Convergence

We just found out late last night that the collaborative piece that Kathy Petersen, Toledo chain maille artist, and I submitted for consideration for Convergence, the annual traveling juried show sponsored by the International Society of Glass Beadmakers, and this year co-sponsored by Bead & Button magazine, was accepted into this incredible prestigious exhibit. Wow, are we excited! The piece is a story piece using chain maille and lampwork glass beads depicting how the four elements: fire, water, air, and earth combine to create the profusion of flowers following a major burn in Yellowstone National Park. This will be the third consecutive year that my beads have been included in the ISGB annual juried show: Metamorphosis (2007), Out of the Box (2008), and Convergence (2009). This year, forty-eight pieces were selected. To be selected by my peers (fellow lampworkers) for an exhibit by my peers is truly an honor. Thank you ISGB and Bead and Button for this wonderful opportunity! Further information about the upcoming exhibit can be found at ISGB.org under the exhibits link.
